Skinning & Solving Blend

Feature Introduction

Supports using brushes in UE to paint clothing mesh skinning strength, blending skinning constraints during solving.

The plugin supports three ways of applying skinning solving blending:

  1. Frozen patches

  2. Adding fixed pins

  3. Drawing Attach weights (new feature in V2.1)

The first two methods have the following drawbacks:

  • Stiff transitions at the skinning boundary, noticeable boundaries between solving and skinning

  • Skin regions may experience jitter

Drawing Attach weights does not have the above problems and can achieve finer results.

Operation Steps

1.Drawing Attach Adhesion Weights

Double-click on the clothing to enter the clothing editing interface and activate the brush to draw skinning.

From black to white (color value: 0-1), corresponding to Attach weights of 0-100%.

2.Enabling Attach on Patches

Enable Attach on patches where skinning blending is required.

Enabling Attach will increase performance consumption. It is recommended to enable Attach only on necessary patches.

Comment

Right-click in empty space, select Auto Enable Attach to automatically detect and enable Attach on drawn patches.

Alternatively, select patches, right-click, and select Enable Attach to enable Attach on selected patches.

Set Attach strength (optional).

Comment

Save the clothing.

3.Binding Skinning

In the default pose of the character, click Bind to automatically skin.

4.Testing Effects

Add actions or drag to see the effects.
