1. Modification of physical properties and processes
1.1 Garment Editing Interface Interaction
Double-click on the Meta Data Asset of the garment in the Content folder to open the garment editing interface
Concepts
Cloth Pieces: Plate Processes (changes take effect for individual plates only)
Fabric Styles: (changes take effect on all plates that reference the fabric)
Interactive
Window to select a plate, highlight the plate when it is selected, and filter the right property bar to show only the information of the plate.
After selecting a plate, set the plate to be hidden in Cloth Piece
For multi-layer garments, you can hide the outer layers one by one to make it easier to select and view the inner layers without blocking them.
To unhide a plate, click on an empty space outside the garment in the left window.
2.0.0 New Interactions
Right-click on a selected plate in a 3D viewport to hide or show it.
1.2 Interpretation of physical properties of fabrics
Comment
Enter Fabric Styles to adjust the physical properties of the fabric, the physical property adjustment is similar to the fabric properties in Style3D Studio:
Physical properties of fabrics include: Stretch of fabrics in three directions, Bending, Bucking Ratio, Bucking Stiff, Static and Dynamic Friction, Weight, and Thickness.
Physical Property | Connotation | Numeric Range |
Stretch Warp/Weft/Bias | Warp/weft/oblique strength direction
Comment | 0--100 |
Bending Warp/Weft/Bias | Warp/weft/skew bending strength.
Comment | 0--100 |
Bucking Ratio Warp/Weft/Bias | It is used to control how many folds are recognized in the warp/weft/diagonal direction that need to be deformed, the higher the deformation rate, the more folds can be refined. The deformation rate and the deformation strength should be used in conjunction, adjusting only one of them has no effect, it is used to refine some of the folds. | 0--100 |
Bucking Stiff Warp/Weft/Bias | Used to control the degree of refinement of the folds identified in the warp/weft/diagonal direction, the value represents the percentage of the original bending value that has changed at the fold. Final bend value at the fold = Original bend * Deformation strength
Comment | 0--100 |
Dynamic Friction Static Friction | Fabric friction coefficient, which determines the extent to which the fabric resists relative motion when it collides with itself, passive objects, and other objects sharing the same solver | 0--1 |
Weight | Determines the self-supporting force that affects the drape performance of the fabric. | 0--2100 |
Thickness | Thickness of fabric during simulation for collision adjustment | 0--1000 |
1.3 Explanation of the properties of the plate process
Select the plate and modify the plate process properties in Cloth Pieces:
Attention:
Enable Seam Taping is checked so that changes to the properties in Bond Property will take effect on the plate.
Plate process is the physical effect of setting up a single plate, commonly used processes are gluing, form curing, fabric thinning, etc. More definitions can be found in the Studio Help Center.
Technique | Connotation | Numeric Range |
Bond | Increased physical properties of the plate to make it less prone to deformation and stretching during simulation. | Sub-parameter ranges are the same as fabric physical properties |
Skive | Physical properties of the plate are reduced based on the original physical properties as opposed to sticky lining (Percentage) | 0--100 |
Solidify | Keeps a plate in its simulated form, the higher the form curing strength, the less likely the plate will deform after curing. | 0--100 |
Pressure | The effect of a plate expanding in the normal direction under the action of a filler such as fluff or cotton. The larger the value, the more the plate expands in the positive direction of the normal. The smaller the value, the more the plate collides in the negative direction of the normal. | -100--100 |
Freeze | Frozen plates simulate collisions without deformation. | On/Off |
Strengthen | Temporarily stiffen the plate during simulation in order to remove the effect of folds on the shape of the plate. | On/Off |
Deactivate | Failed plates do not participate in the simulation and collision, and no effect is activated in the 3D window when set. | On/Off |
Shrinkage Ratio Weft/Warp | Simulated shrinkage of the plate in the warp and weft directions The larger the value, the more the plate is stretched in the warp and weft directions during the simulation. The smaller the value, the more contracted the plate is simulated in the warp and weft directions. | 0--100 |
Pattern Unused | Checking the "Do not use" box will remove the movie from the 3D scene, unchecking the box will allow you to use it normally. | On/Off |
1.4 Fabric physical property presets
Preset selectable property presets
The preset is displayed as Custom customized parameter when SMD is initially imported.
Selecting a preset and saving it applies the physical properties of the preset.
Reset the preset to return to the initial Custom parameters.
1.5 Apparel Parts Visibility Control
Under the Visibility group in the Apparel panel, you can set the display and hiding of apparel-related parts.

2. Modify Garment Material
Material Interfaces show the list of all materials of the garment, you can replace the material or double click the material ball to enter the setting interface.
When you select a plate in the preview window, the plate material is automatically displayed in the property bar.
